Last night at Ragin' Sage we kicked around the idea of what being a Christian should look like; specifically, what in our daily meandering (better description of mine than the usual "walk") makes us distinctive and attractive and a cut above a social service agency which does the same sorts of 'ministering' that the world sees many churches do. It later occured to me that Luther once said 'it is the duty of every Christian to be Christ to his neighbor.'
Now that we can respond to these blogs, I'd be curious to read what that exhortation from Luther means to the village as a Christian community. What is Luther calling us to do in his statement - it relates to our conversation at Ragin' Sage. Without sermonizing, maybe even in just a few very specific words (action words, not ethereal fuzzies) what is the Holy Spirit laying on your heart as a way to 'be Christ' to others. I'll start - please join the chat...

Be quick to listen, slow to speak when a person who is hurting needs an ear/shoulder.

How to love your enemy 101
Do good to those who hate you.
How to pray for those who make you want to pull your hair out.
