Hi all!

If you've ever thought about learning how to build your own rain barrel, it's easy to do and inexpensive. Andrea and I are hosting a DIY rain barrel workshop in our backyard on Saturday, March 13th from 9am to noon. This is a good opportunity to bring friends from outside the community! (We don't recommend you bring children; if you must, please contact us first to make sure it will work.)

You can come and just watch and learn, or you can build your own rain barrel from a recycled, 55-gallon, food-grade plastic drum.

If you want to build a rain barrel, please provide $50 to cover the cost of materials. Let me know by Sunday March 7th, as I will be purchasing the materials starting on the 8th.

Whether you build or not I'll provide an instruction sheet that includes a list of all the parts and tools you need to build one and where to get them.

We'll have a potluck barbecue afterward from noon to 2pm; if you want to stay for lunch, please bring something to put on the grill for yourself and a dish or beverage to share. The party ends promptly at 2pm to accommodate naptimes for our little ones.

If you have tools to bring, we could use drills (corded or cordless), hole saws, adjustable wrenches, and jigsaws.

Should be a lot of fun, hope to see you there!

Ryan & Andrea

We've got our rainbarrel, and we're getting some rain right now (if the weather at 22nd/Columbus is anything like the weather at Oracle/Ina right now)!
