Hi all,
The McCulleys are going camping this weekend on our property near Benson. We are leaving Friday morning and returning Sunday. If you'd like to join us for at least part of that time, we'd love the company!
Our property is 5 acres at about 4000' elevation, in the southern foothills of the Rincons. It is about 10 degrees cooler than Tucson. It's far enough out that the night skies are VERY starry when it's clear. It's gorgeous during the day, too, with a variety of wildlife and good mountain views. Sunsets are killer. It's not that hard to find and easily accessible by car, but it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere. Here it is on Google maps.
We have a full kitchen, barbecue grill, fire ring, limited electricity, and a toilet. While it's rustic it's not really "roughing it".
If you come, bring:
* your own drinking water; there is no running water on-site
* some food to share
* warm clothes or at least a jacket; it gets chilly at night
* a tent if you want to stay overnight.
Kids are of course welcome. There is a fenced play yard that has been cleared of brush and pricklies with a swing set and good digging dirt.
We recommend closed-toe shoes and long pants; it is the desert after all.
Hope to see you there! |
