Our mesquite trees are in dire need of pruning. We have five in particular that have large branches coming into contact with our house, our neighbor's house, and our workshop. They also need to be thinned so the winds won't blow them over (the thought of a 30' tall tree being blown over into our house is somehow not appealing).
One of our choices is to hire someone to prune them for us. It will be a lot of work, and we are afraid it will be very, very expensive. But we won't know until we ask, so if anyone knows a reliable, hungry landscaper who does a nice job with trees, please let us know!
There is also the Village Pruning Party. Basically I would borrow or rent a chainsaw, lay out an assortment of sharp implements, and gather 4-5 Villagers willing to spend a Saturday morning hacking trees into submission. We would provide breakfast and lots and lots of ice water. The earliest we could do this is late July... maybe the 23rd. Nice and hot and humid! Sound like fun? Great! Let us know if you're up for it. |
