I have an old Pentium computer named Lazarus we used to have as a file and print server. It was made out of resurrected parts (hence the name). A long time ago it finally died and did not come back to life, despite all our prayers and anointings. We went along without it but now I realize that it has some files on it that I need.

So... basically can anyone help us resurrect Lazarus (again)? I'm 99% sure it was the power supply that failed. It uses an old AT-style power supply, most any old Pentium or even a 486 would have a PS that might bring ol' Lazarus back to life. Anyone got a suitable old machine that marked "Organ Donor=Y" on its driver license? The donation need not be permanent, so I'd be happy to return it to the donor. Lazarus is destined for World Care once the data has been removed.

If you want to bring the hard drive to me, I'll attach it to another computer and try to get the data off it. Let me know.

If this works with Ryan's, oh please, please let me know. I have an old 386 laptop that I used in grad school that won't power up, either (since 5 or so years ago), but I'd love the files off there. I can technically live on without them, but I'd love them....

Thanks for the offer of help, Chris! I neglected to mention that Lazarus is one of those exotic foreigner-types. He's running Linux. Red Hat of some flavor, everything is command line. Still want to try? Any other takers?

Some of the data is Village promo stuff and for Eric's game. Our old brochure, business card, that sort of thing.

Ryan,
I have an AT power supply that might work. Give me a call and we'll see what we can do.

His Geekiness, the Derek of the Hugens, offers unto all for the fixing and advancement of all computers in the realm, the parts salvaged from my own, and Teen Challenge's (from when i worked techy for them) computer parts. I have a smitten of most anything. Also, a 19 in monitor thats in great shape . . . though not so great a shape as His Geekiness' new 19 in flat screen lcd monitor on which his digital art work suddenly jumps up a notch in quality, also, his gaming good . . . .
