Andrea came out of surgery about 2:30 and the surgeon came out to talk to us (me, Ellen, grandma McCulley and Aunt Jen) about 3pm. He said Andrea did very well and she is recovering. Okay, our surgeon can be pretty understated. When he shared the details it was clear that our biggest prayer was answered: the adhesions that had been causing her pain are dealt with, and best of all, she should be able to conceive! I about burst into tears and asked the surgeon if I could hug him when he told me the last part. I settled for a handshake and then Ellie and I did a happy dance instead.
I am expecting a call within the next hour or so to tell me her room number and visiting info. I'll stop by and see her and find out what her preferences are about visitation, then post back here. I only hope that we aren't laughing so hard with joy that we bust her stitches open!

God has always allowed me to see his goodness through healing of medical issues, including hospitalization and doctors' care. This act of God has blown me away. He has seen and heard what is one of the deepest desires of my heart. And he wanted it, too. I almost chickened out on this surgery several times, thinking that I could put up with the pain. I felt God was okay with whatever decision, surgery or no surgery. We are so happy that we took God's answer to how to deal with this pain. No matter what the recovery is like, it will all be worth it to have seen his love in this way. It is a miracle, and I will tell people of God's miracle in my life forever. I will be home from work for the next few days to make sure everything is well with Andrea. We are glad to be home together again! Visitors are welcome (would be good to call first).
