Hi all!
Andrea made it through surgery today. It went well. She's experiencing a lot of pain (and consequently is on a lot of powerful painkillers) but is recovering. She says she will be up for visitors starting tomorrow (Thursday). She is in room 870, bed 1, at TMC if you'd like to visit. We are told she'll be in hospital for at least the next couple of days.
Thanks to everyone for prayers, support, chasing and/or ferrying our kids, and providing tasty food! We definitely feel the love.

	From: ryan Date: Fri Dec 7 18:54:29 EST 2012 Subject: update Andrea is having a rough go of recovery. Her back, while still causing a lot of pain, seems to be doing what it is supposed to. But she started showing symptoms of a bowel obstruction last night, and the pain from that is worse. She also can't eat so it is hard for her to get the strength she needs to get better. Her parents came in from Kansas and have been a great support in hospital since I can't be there as often as we'd like. Please keep praying! Edit this response Write a response Email the author
	From: ryan Date: Tue Dec 11 23:21:25 EST 2012 Subject: another surgery For those of you who haven't already heard, Andrea is scheduled for the OR tomorrow (Wednesday) at 12:15 to remove adhesions/scar tissue interfering with the function of her bowel. She's pretty discouraged, but hopeful that this will resolve some of her ongoing tummy issues. Since the scar tissue she has is from prior abdominal surgeries, we are praying that any new scar tissue that will form after this one will not cause other problems down the road. 	From: ryan Date: Wed Dec 12 21:56:58 EST 2012 Subject: surgery update Andrea's surgery today was successful. She was/is in a LOT of pain afterward. Hopefully the pain will get under control over the next 24 hours. Pray that she would get some relief from the pain and itching (from the pain meds), and that the procedure will allow her bowels to function normally again. 	From: ryan Date: Sat Dec 15 16:58:23 EST 2012 Subject: how's she doing? Andrea is doing well at TMC. She is getting around and taking long walks. She is still waiting for her bowels to do their thing, though, and that's a prerequisite for getting anything to eat or drink. She is still on IV fluids.
