For my friends & coworkers interested in my coming vacation, here's the gory details.

During the trip, I will try to check my email from time to time. So feel free to write me if you want; I'll just be slow in answering.

I have an IBM conference to be at Oct 6-9 in New York, and a wedding to attend Oct 18 in Arkansas. Em & I figured that we could drive the loop and make a vacation of it all. In between, we will spend a few days in Denver with family and a week and a half in Tennessee where Emily went to college. She has always wanted to return, and now is as good a chance as any!

I'm not posting phone #s here because I haven't gotten permission to post them. However, Dan has the #s if you need to get in contact with me somewhere.

We will leave this Saturday, Sep 27, and drive 2 days to Denver. We will arrive Sunday evening and stay with Rob & Reina Carman (Rob is Emily's cousin) for a few days. It'll be a chance to get to know them better (I've only met them once, at my wedding) and also a chance to see my grandparents again.

On Thursday, Oct 3 we leave for Tennessee. On Friday, we will arrive at the house of Brian & Danielle West; Brian is an old college friend of Emily's.

On Monday, I leave for New York. I'm going to have to leave very very early so that I can arrive in midafternoon :(

I will spend Monday through Thursday midday in New York, doing the IBM thing; after the conference is over, I head back to Tennessee, arriving either late Thursday or early Monday. Maybe I'll sleep in a Walmart parking lot...

Em & I will then spend a week in Tennessee, discovering and re-discovering the area. This is mostly what I'm looking forward to :)

Finally, on Friday, Oct 17, we will drive to Arkansas. The wedding is on Saturday, and then we leave to go home Sunday morning. We'll be home Monday evening, and back at work on Tuesday.

If you happen to be a cat burglar, know that I have a friend housesitting for us ... and he's 6'8" ...
