She's here!

I got a call at work from Emily: "I'm at my doctor's office, and I'm bleeding. Come right away." And then, when I was in the parking lot at work: "They're going to do a C-section. Come directly to the hospital."
So there I was, racing to the hospital (only speeding a little bit), frantically making phone calls to get things arranged. Where will Eric go? How to notify family & friends? Em's parents are in LA, but they weren't going to drive over until tomorrow...
Meanwhile, her doctor was driving Em to the hospital in her personal car (the nurses laughed about that - she wasn't willing to wait for an ambulance). I arrived in the hospital at a run, then sat around & waited as they prepped Em for surgery. (Apparently, they had held off until I arrived.)
Before long (it seemed like a long while at the time), we were in surgery and then Rosie was out. But unlike with Eric, there was no trip to the ICU, no real trauma. At the first checkup Rosie was a little weak, but she quickly recovered. She's in my arms as I write this (hunt-n-peck, five fingered). She is, other than having come at 37 weeks, pretty "normal."
Sigh. A normal Lewis. Well, it was bound to happen someday.
