WARNING: This feature is not yet fully implemented. I'll post a news item on the homepage when it is ready for everybody to use.
Now, you can upload any type of file (through anonymous FTP) and then post it on the website!
To do this, follow these steps:
1) Upload a file to the villagersonline.com FTP site.
2) Go to http://villagersonline.com/upload/files/, fill out the form, and hit "Upload".
Once you upload a file, it will be available in the "Files" section of the website.
Some things to know
FTP Files Automatically Deleted Periodically
Once you upload a file to the FTP site, you must upload it to the website within 30 minutes. Files just sitting on the FTP site will be deleted periodically. Don't worry, though - once you have uploaded your file to the website, it won't get deleted.
Advanced Users Can Create Advanced Pages
When you go to http://villagersonline.com/upload/files/, you will see that there is a field where you can write some comments about the file, telling people what it is and whatever else you want them to know. However, advanced users have the option of creating their own page where the file will reside; this is much like creating a blog in that you can type whatever you want, including adding HTML to the file. |
