I got online yesterday morning for the first time in several days, and noticed that the blogs section of "Latest Uploads" is missing. However, I had to head off immediately to my grandfather's memorial service, and didn't have time to fix it. I'm now working on it.
Technical:
The problem turns out to be that the date-sorting algorithm, which utilizes the Linux "ls" command, has just started getting the "Argument list too long" message. This means that we now have so many blogs that we can't put them all on a single command line to a single ls command. I knew that this would happen eventually, but frankly forgot about fixing it for a long time. Now, blogs have hit the problem, and I have to design a solution.
Ironically, I already *have* a really elegant solution, but that is on a new version of the website that I haven't deployed yet, and it's not the sort of thing that I can just drop into the existing website. So I'm stuck with coming up with some sort of temporary hack. I should have it done within an hour or so.
Update: Things seem to be working now. The change is a real hack, but it's slightly better than the old hack.
