Last night in Kid Vespers we prayed for some pretty cool things so don't be surprised if your kids' teeth start falling out. Several children were concerned about their loose teeth so we prayed that they would fall out. We thanked God for teeth and all they do for us. I can't recall having prayed for so many teeth before, but it was about time I started remembering teeth to God.
We also prayed for greater skill levels on video games. Don't be shocked if your kids have some major breakthroughs on Angry Birds or whatever game they are currently playing.
I got to pray for one kid's desire to have a pink flower bike and a few similar requests regarding toys. One kid just wanted a helmet and was content with his bike. This far from Christmas I tend to doubt pink flower bikes will appear, but I do love that kids will ask for anything. I wish I wouldn't limit my prayers by what I think God will actually be willing to do and instead just give him my longings. A pink flower bicycle isn't high on my list, but I have similar things I long to ask him for and will do in the days ahead.I wish I was content with stuff I had and just needed to put on the helmet of salvation I've already been given.
Lots of you were sick yesterday. We prayed for Moms and sisters and brothers and friends who were sick. I know some of you think that the flu will run its course and you will get over it without God's intervention, but I just wanted you to know that you should consider that maybe any healing you experience is due to the fervent prayer requests of some cute kids who bravely ask God for what they want.
Prayer requests at Kid Vespers tend to follow themes. Take a moment today to thank God for your teeth. They are pretty awesome gifts from a God who answers prayer. I appreciate mine along with the cavities and fillings and bridges that he allowed and provides along the way.
Prayer time at Kid Vespers is the best!
