Subject: COEXIST

It has been a bad day. I was in Phoenix overnight and rose before dawn to make my way home. I had a 9:00 conference call followed by a 10:00 meeting at the Village followed by a quick lunch and then another conference call at 2:00 plus I had to nail down some loose ends about things I have to accomplish before next week. I was a little stressed and between a couple meetings I ran in and grabbed a burger and then quickly headed to my next appointment. I was backing out of my parking space and never saw the car speeding through the parking lot. Brakes squealed and I squealed and then I felt bad about not paying more attention. The lady driving the car was fuming and fusing and yelled at me and gave me the finger and she kept honking the horn so that all of Tucson would know that I was the idiot who didn't look to see where they were going. I took the beating. It is hard in those situations when you know you screwed up to convey how sad you are that you messed up. I shrugged my shoulders and looked as downcast as I can look and tried to convey what a dodo I was and mouthed, "I'm sorry." It was to no avail. She kept honking and yelling and cursing as she pulled slowly ahead. As she passed I noticed the two bumper stickers on her car. One read, "Give Peace a Chance" and the other was that preachy religious symbol one that reads, "COEXIST" using all the various religious symbols. I was deciding that I wasn't sure if I wanted to co-exist with her and I am resting assured that she has no desire to coexist with me. I'd like to give peace a chance, but I was having trouble pulling that off. She gave me the finger one more time and sped off. It was a good reminder, all in all, why I shouldn't drive around with a fish symbol on my bumper... Rod
