I love to study the old testiment. It is a study of the character of God. Untill recently I have found it amazing how Isreal could doubt God. Now, to my shame, I understand the Isrealites fully. It is easy to get caught up in what we see happening around me, and to me. It is easy to forget the awesome things God has done in my life.
At the start of the exodus, the Jews doubted God as they were caught between the Red Sea, and the Egyptian Army comming to wipe them out. Pretty understandable fear they experienced. From thier point of view, pretty understandable doubts running through thier heads. From God's point of view it was a sin to doubt him. But God, being merciful, delivered them in a spectacular way.
As I wait for my grades I wonder, and doubt. I struggle about wether I passed all my classes or not. I wonder if God is going to dash my dream of going to college to teach me a lesson. In my mind these fears are there. And there is shame about doubting God, after all he has done in my life. Yet I plod along, trusting God inspite of my fears. That is the mark of faith.
Fear is normal, even healthy. How one reacts to that fear is what matters. Doubts running through our heads about the future of The Village in normal. It is what we do with it that really matters. I do not believe God is going to permit our church to close it's doors. I do not know how he is going to work things out. It has been my experience he will do so in a way we do not expect. Going on inspite of what is happening is the mark of faith. It is the mark of courage.
