I have a job interview today at Desert View High School. I am starting to get kinda nervous, but it's with the Dept Head and not the principal so that's less scary...Any and all prayer would be oh-so-appreciated! :)

Don't use the word "overwhelmed" and sit up straight. You'll be fine. (...and said a prayer for ya :-) )

Hey everyone - thanks so much for your prayers!

The interview went well! I think, at least... It felt a little awkward at times because there were four of us in a rather small room, but there was some laughter and smiles, which I think is always a good sign in an interview. It was with the current and future department heads, and the vice principal, so I was very glad to meet them. It seems like an amazing place and the staff seems to work as a team, which I think is amazing :)

They said they'll let me know sometime next week about how things are going on their end, so ya...thanks again and I'll let y'all know!

So I got a phone call from the current department head telling me they wanted to offer me the job!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!! I am the new Astronomy and Oceanography teacher at Desert View High School...heck freaking ya!

I was bumming in the classroom cleaning with Jack when they called, so it was great to have them call when we were still at school (cuz he helped me get the job, so it was fun to have him there listening :)! )...so ya, they said they were afraid they were going to lose me to someone else - to which I DIDN'T reply that I hadn't really applied anywhere else :) SO EXCITING!!!

God has been providing for me in such huge, crazy ways, not how I expect, but oh so wonderfully. So ya - THANKS A MILLION for praying and being excited with me.

Awesome! In this economy it is amazing to get offered a job at all. How cool for you. I'd tell you to party hard, but I'm your pastor and now you are a role model to young people so instead party lightly and circumspectly with an appropriate view toward your position and status as a frumpy old high school teacher. :)

To be honest, Layne, I didn't pray for you regularly. But nevertheless, I am very happy for you. Thank God He doesn't rely on or require a certain formula for answered prayer. Thanks for sharing this whole process with us all. Congratulations!
