Hello all,

I'm looking to expand my music collection, and I think you guys have pretty good taste in music. :)

So if you wanna post some of your fav stuff, I'd love it!
PS, I'm really into folky music these days, chill acoustic, or anything else...but if you know some good folk music that'd be awesome. :)

Thanks all!

Acoustic guitar based singer-songwritery:
Nick Drake (died in the 70s but left behind 3 very good albums--"Pink Moon" my favorite of the 3)
Indigo Girls...some fave albums: "Indigo Girls," "Indians, Nomads, Saints," and "Swamp Ophelia"
Joni Mitchell, "Blue"

Singer-songwriter intelligent pop music:
Crowded House (any of their CDs)

I love India Arie's album from a few years ago, "Acoustic Soul." The song "Video" went top 10, but the whole thing is great in my opinion. Folksy R & B.

Have you listened to any Suzanne Vega? Try any of her albums. "99.5" is edgy, industrial folk. Is "industrial folk" something that even makes sense?

Just about anything by Mary Chapin Carpenter or Lucinda Williams is awesome by me. And I assume you know Sufjan Stevens already.

OK, those are just some starting thoughts.

Over The Rhine- One of the greatest voices ever. Great, poetic lyrics too. check out their website for free streaming samples. Ohio and Drunkard's Prayer are both excellent

Sufjan Stevens- Funky. Quirky. Brilliant.Thought provoking. I recommend Michigan and Illinoise.

Arcade Fire- one of their songs "Wake Up" was the intro song for U2 on their latest tour. Need I say more?

Don Chaffer- You Were at the Time for Love. This early solo album from by Waterdeep's front man continues to comfort and inspire me all these years later.

Counting Crows- August and Everything After. Good all the way through.

Wilco- Yankee Hotel Foxtrox. Groundbreaking alt-country turned experimental rock. Me Gusto Mucho.
