Hello everyone!
I'm so excited to invite you to the 1st Annual St. Patrick's Day Ceilidh (pronounced "kay-lee" - Gaelic for a party involving music and dancing!).
Where I'm from in Indiana, St. Paddy's Day is a VERY big deal, so I wanted to have a party to celebrate the life of St. Patrick and the goodness of Irish culture.
Food will be potluck style! I will be making Potato & Leek soup, but if you could bring some Irish-themed food item, that would be great! (If you don't know any Irish dishes, just bring something you love to make.) If you could RSVP with an idea of what you're bringing, that would be helpful - thanks!
In recent years, St. Paddy's Day has become more about alcohol and less about celebrating the life of St. Patrick and Ireland, so I'd like to take the day back to its roots! To start, kids and minors are most definitely invited, and as a result, I won't be serving alcohol. However, feel free to bring your own keeping in mind the kiddos. Guinness, after all, is one of my favorite drinks :) All good things in moderation!
If you're musically inclined - bring an instrument! Hopefully there will be jamming and dancing throughout the evening.
Saturday, March 17th, from 6-11 PM at my house. Let me know if you need directions! |
