Subject: 26-mile marathon

Been trying to get this done for a few weeks now. Any of you game in sponsoring me for a 26-mile walking marathon in HI in December with Team in Training? They are the same ones that raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for one in Phoenix and for bicyclists in the El Tour de Tucson in November. But it would be great to go for the one in HI and it would be very selfish to deny me the chance to go to a place where I have never been to before and what I raise for the minimum amount the airfare and lodging are included. I need a little help to get me started, like $52 at least to get me tools such as sample letters and a website in the packet they have available. So far I have $23. They have water or Gatorade stations all along the way and it is over a 8-hour span which is very do-able for me. FYI, I am a hiking member of So. Az. Hiking Club and once in shape, can tackle up to 4,000 or 5,000 foot climbs which is what I am trying to get back to. So if you feel led of God, checks are to be made out to LLS, for short, and I can give you receipts once I get the packet. OK? P.S. I just realized I have not done my doctor-prescribed walks last week due to my diabetes which is no longer out of control and is almost down to the level of a non-diabetic. And I cannot go for the weekly training anymore until I get myself registered(get the packet with tools).
