Instruction – having more to do with discipline and teach with explaining how things work.
Chapter Two (2.1-5)(5)
Tell your children why it is important to listen to you
1. Your instruction will lead them to a better understanding of God
a. What you teach them should help them further the mission of the family and God.
b. Your wisdom will lead them (Chapter 6.20-22)
Talk about your mission – and God’s mission
Chapter Three (3.1, 3.11, 3.12) Chapter Thirteen (13.24) (19.18)(22.15, 23.13, & 29.15)
1. Continually remind your children about the things that are important to you and the values you live by
2. Discipline – is evidence of love
a. Help your children to see discipline as an expression of your love
b. 24 – “diligent” to discipline . . . thoughts on culture and my own laziness – boundaries – acknowledge their existence
c. Foolishness, discipline won’t kill your child, discipline not hate

Know that you have something to offer.
Pursue wisdom – set time aside to learn about God and Things that you enjoy

Fathers - talk to your son’s about women, sex, and relationship all the time.
Teach your children how to respect their mother (Chapter 6.20-22)

Teach your children about how to conduct themselves with people who are outside of the family.
