News and Notes
Today is my 11th wedding anniversary. It is strange to think that I have been married for a third of my life. Happy anniversary Susan!! I love you.
This Saturday: March 10 – First Prayer walk through the neighborhood. These prayer walks were part of our identity in the past, but I suspect many of you have not participated in one before. Don’t worry, you will not have to talk to anyone on this prayer walk unless someone stops you and asks what you are doing. The simple philosophy of these walks is to do spiritual battle for the neighborhoods surrounding the church. Fighting for people spiritually is the first step in rebuilding the ruins of our world. When we announce the presence of the Kingdom of God, we are telling Satan that he is not in charge in a particular space. We are literally reminding him of Christ’s resurrection. We will go out in twos and threes, stopping at houses to pray for the inhabitants and their next-door-neighbors. I encourage you to bring your children. I’m going to write a short prayer that my daughter can memorize and pray with us over the houses that we stop at. We will meet in the Lutheran Parking Lot at 10:30am.
Easter – I’m in the process of getting the Easter coordinators their information. You should receive a phone call from them asking for your help. They will also help motivate you in the process of creating and answer your questions. Please be kind to them, and help them do their new jobs without to much trouble.
