Subject: Thoughts on nothing much

This week I'm suppose to talk about authentic community. You know - those two wonderful values that the Village people are always talking about. O.k., not always - but sometimes. Anyway, I'm not feeling very authentic, and lately I've been wondering about that community thing. Honestly, I don't want to think about other people. I just want to think about me.
Of course, after a few days of the great and grand community of one - the one Eric of all universes - I discover how lonely and defective I am with out God, my wife, my daughter, and all of my family and friends. So I come up for air, and I'm informed that I've been a jerk and a lot of confession is in order . . . Oh well, so much for being God . . . it really is a rather difficult job. |
