O.k., for those who don't know, I've been working on an adventure/fantasy board game for the older kids at the Village. The Game would be played every other week during Vespers. It is designed to encourage conversation about scripture and foster community between the children and the adults. The Game is not only designed to be played with the kids, but also the adults. It is set in a forest made up of 49 squares. All of the squares are placed face down, and the players must explore the forest and discover its hidden secerts. Players are allowed to choose from three different character classes: Apostle, Sage, or Warrior. Each Character is either female or male. The stats very based on gender and character class. During the game players fight monsters , rescue humans, and complete quests. Build into the game is the discussion of different bible verses and concepts. There is a dragon that everyone must join together to defeat, and the all the players must join together to fight the eternal gate monster to escape from the dark forest. The game has been game tested twice, and I have simplified the game quite a bit. Jesse has played the game once and liked it, but it was obvious that it needed more work for him to get the full intended value and enjoyment. For those of you have expressed an interest in beta testing the game, don't worry we have at least two more tests to do before we have a full kid only beta test. I'll be calling ya. Also, if I've talked to you about drawing monsters, humans, or players, please get art work to me as soon as possible.Ryan McCulley has been kind enough to loan us his hand painted board game figures to give "Evangelon," that's the name of the game, visual enjoyment.
