The last postcard of the year.
Due to the fact that Susan ran my cell phone through the washing machine, I will now be using her cell phone until I have robbed enough banks to purchase a replacement. My temporary cell number is 245-9267. --Eric
We should be in prayer for the vast amounts people affected by the recent, massive earthquake in the Indian Ocean.
Fallow month is drawing to a close. There’s still time to have someone over to your house for dinner!!
According to Rod, our resident farming expert, fallow month is the time for things to grow wild, naturally. After the fallow time we intentionally cultivate the good stuff. Please take some time this weeks to evaluate your life and listen to God in prayer re: what he wants you to pursue (and not pursue) this year. Cultivation involves tearing up and turning over the land. It can be a painful process of undoing, but it preceeds the growing of plants (God brings the harvest). So start plowing. Once you’ve been enriched and refreshed, it’s the time to plant. What is God inviting you to plant and sow in this new year?
In keeping with this process, the Village is allowing some things to go by the wayside, reshaping events which are continueing, and planting some new crops. The weekly Seneca house dinners are being plowed under. Art night will be returning with a strong focus on creating an artist community within the Village. Theology class will continue, with an emphasis on practical living. A bi-weekly men’s group will be sprouting up in a field near you.
