hey everyone,

The Weather is wonderful up here in beautiful Seattle WA. Susan, Ashton, and I made it to Seattle yesterday at 3:00pm. The trip was wonderful and long. O.K., not completely wonderful. We were going to drive straight through on the first day, but around midnight I got a serious case of the runs. Oh boy, it was brutal. . . so we decided to take it slow. Oh well!! Hopefully, I will be able to provide ya with some pictures and a little bit more of a running commentary of my Seattle inspirations.

Susan and I should be meeting with Paul Mossbarger(the guy who wrote Romans 12, Standfirm, Is 55, Is 40, Mercy Stands, etc.)sometime this week. He is planing on putting together a new CD, and He wants to use the Village as a test site etc. I'll explain more later.

Eric

Explaining Seattle weather - good
Explainig origins of Village music - better
Explaning bowel movements on the trip - priceless

May you go in piece.

Always to be happy to be tested on. That rootbeer was awesome. The best I have ever tasted. Where did you get it, I want more. Enjoy the rest of your vacation. Miss you three.

O.k, so I'm starting to relax . . . Last night we visited the livingroom. It's run by Karen Ward's church. Sue and I met her in Boston last year. Here is a link to her website: Karen Ward. Susan is going to play and sing at her church on Saturday Night. Karen is a big fan of Susan's voice. Yeah!!!
So Paul and I are suppose to meet this on Saturday at 3:30pm. I'm looking forward to talking to him.
Ashton is having a great time. She really likes vaction, and it is a lot of fun watching her enjoy life in Seattle. We visited the aqarium and the brand new Seattle library - wow, that is an impressive building. Best coffee in Seattle.

CEPIN-NATION
No way to spray away the KKK and
other human idiosyncracies, stinkracies
that pollute: resolute, tried and truly trite,
a bit light on the hindsight and
how it ought to effect the neglect of
intellect bespectacled ekk-ekk-ekks collect
over time.
(eric's dream interlude)
"On 'er honor" 'e said, so she
colored red 'er 'ead
because the dreads bled 'er keds
and weren't doing it for her anymore.
(back to random thoughts)
"I protest" is what he said and what he did.
"These perversions and abominations of
humanity -- insanity! -- profanity
is too tame a way to portray the
shame we collect, no respect, what sect
do we blast last or pass first?"
Cancer? Romancer? Dancer and Prancer...
No answer.
Protest that, if you must.

So I've been thinking this week that Seattle makes a fine case for homelessness. I could handle being property-free in a place that's always 70 degrees, with the smell of salt-water wafting over. There's the scheduling crunch of homelessness, however: drink coffee from 8-10, get lost in a huge library from 10-3, wander around in a park which actually contains flowers from 3-5, enjoy the sunset by the lake. Okay, there is the food issue I'm forgetting.
Anyway, Eric and I have been wandering around with goosebumps because it's 60 degrees and raining. Everyone else has miraculously donned what we consider full winter gear -- baseball caps and long-sleeved t-shirts. It's good to be cold!
Still, we miss you all and look forward to seeing you when we get home this weekend.
No response on the poem, Keith.

The humidity is back down, so the swamp coolers are working again, and I had to pull out my University of Okoboji blanket on Saturday a.m. Enjoy the rain while you're there, I guess :-)

Hey Eric I'm sure I speak for the rest of us when I say thanks so much for the gastrointestinal updates. My dear friend Dr. Frasier Crain reminded me of some very good advice that you could use while you're up there. Stay away from the combination of the tossed salad and scrambled eggs. (O.K. So maybe Dr. Frasier is not a doctor but he does play one on tv.)

He included such good advice in one of his earlier albums that he recorded in case anyone decided his life would make for a good tv sitcom. Maybe you've heard it. I'll include one of the lyrics here:

" ... tossed salad and scrambled eggs, they're calling again. ... good night Seattle, we love you."

I hope you can enjoy the rest of your stay there and use such wisdom I've imparted here. Your thoughts ...
