Area 215, a small gathering of pastor/seeker friends of mine, was asked to offer rewrite of Psalm 90 for an the conference that Rod and I are going to next week. I've posted it below for your comments and reactions.
Psalm 90 area 215
You, oh Mystery, are, and have always been, the space in which we live.
Before any…You were…
You send us out; You call us home.
For the eternal now is where you dwell.
Life cycles; we live, we die, we live again. Life happens.
Shit happens. You see it all; you’re in it all.
And under the weight of your presence we live; we die.
Seventy or eighty years, if we’re lucky—punctuated by pain and sorrow.
(We wonder, what’s the point?)
We see your power; we see our frailty; teach us to live in this moment with wisdom.
Come back; how long do we have to sit alone, uncomforted, in your space?
By your love, release our desires into being so that we may celebrate your peace.
Give us as many good days as bad. Make your ways know to us, and to our children give them more good days than bad. |
