Subject: News and Notes September week 1

The Village: September week 1 & 2 It is the beginning of September, which means we will go over the Values of the church etc. for the next few weeks, and we will have our membership service the 3rd week of Oct. Membership is pretty simple at the Village. It is a an opportunity for people to declare the Village as their home for the next 12 months. Membership at the Village is Yearly. So, when you sign-up, you are not committing your life forever to the Village. There is a covenant agreement that you have to sign. It will be available to look at and take home in the next few weeks. Also, during our membership service we usually do something symbolic that represents us coming together as a community. The first year of the Village, we took broken pieces of glass and glued them together on a board. The year after that we put our hands in paint and pressed them onto a canvas. This year our symbolic “praxis” is up in the air. If you have an idea or suggestion, please pass it on to me. Celtic Prayer (1st and 3r Thurs 7:30pm): This fall I would like to put a special emphasis on our celtic prayer evening. It happens twice a month at the muse. The name should not intimidate you. No one will be chanting in gallic. It is simply a time to meditate quietly and reflect on readings from scripture and celtic prayers. It also includes some praying for specific needs of the community. Susan and I planning on going for the next few months, and want to strongly encourage you to be there too. If you have childcare issues, then trade off babysitting with your spouse. If you know of someone who can’t do this, then offer to watch their children. Theology Group: I want to change this group some - this is why it has been cancelled. There will be more info about this on Sunday. Pastor Eric
