Sex, God, & Relationships
Next Monday, Rod & Eric will lead a discussion entitled The Song of Solomon: Sex, Relationships, and God. Food is provided, so please try to come on time. I have an additional request: it would be really cool if some people could volunteer to help with the kids so that Susan & Kim, who are often with children, could join in the Bible study. If you are willing to do this (and I would really appreciate it), please give me a call or an e-mail, or sign up on Sunday.

Lunch with the Pastors
Most of you reading this already missed Lunch With The Pastors this week. I just wanted to remind you that you have the opportunity to join Rod & Eric for lunch at Fronimo's on Mondays at 12:15. It's always an interesting conversation, ranging from how much you should tip, to modesty within our culture, to what God is doing in our lives. Hope to see you there!
Kids Yard Sale
Captain Kelly McConnell, who is a mere eight years of age, is heading up the Kids' Yard Sale Fundraiser for the Village building. She would really love it if you would bring stuff for her & the other Village kids to sell. You can take it directly to the Parks' or McConnells' houses, or bring it to Vespers this coming Sunday. She will take it from there.
A Website Password
As many of you know, we have a website which includes pictures and blogs, lively discussions, music, & sermons. The truth about this website is that many of you don't post to it. The reasons for this are probably very complicated. However, one of the basic reasons may be that you're new to the Village and don't have a username & password. With these 2 simple tools, you can post blogs and pictures, update your bio, and respond to other people's blogs and such. To get them, simply e-mail Russ Lewis. One important thing to understand about the Village website is that at this point in our transient life, it serves as a building for us. It is the structure that we can point to which describes who we are and (usually) doesn't go anywhere (unless attacked by anonymous, vicious hackers). Many people have come to visit the Village and have even stayed because they first visited the website via one reference or another.
Crave
On Saturday night, I grabbed my Settlers box and headed for Crave Coffee Bar to play board games and meet people. As I arrived, I was met by the sound of Daniel Wevodau's loud motorcycle, and we walked in together. But to our dismay, we found a packed house, full of not board gamers, but loud music. For some reason, their game night had changed to a concert. Our dismay turned to depression and all-out wailing and gnashing of teeth when we were informed that the shop was closing in just one week. We ventured outside and were met by Cheryl & Kelsea. The 4 of us played a game of Settlers under the attack of large, black palo verde beetles. |
