It's A Missional Thing
(Your Monthly Reminder)
Once again, I would like to remind you, my fellow Village friends, that Vespers starts at 5:10. As we make our transition to our new space, I would like to continue the process of infusing our new start time into the DNA of the Village. It's especially helpful if you come at 5:00 even though service starts at 5:10 so that you can welcome new people (who usually arrive early), grab a drink and get settled in. Vespers is the Village's "Open House" time, so it's important that the host (that's us) be present and available to welcome the guests as they arrive.
Phase 1 Is At Hand
(Repent And Bring A Paintbrush)
Hey guys, I know that I've given you lots of details in e-mails about what might happen at the building. The basic plan is simple: we'll be having lots of Saturday workdays to get the initial setup of the sanctuary finished and begin landscaping and such. There are some structural things that have to be done like building a hallway and putting windows in doors for Sunday School classes. Very little has been decided related to how things will look except for the direction things will face in the sanctuary, how the band will be setup, and sound system details. If you're really invested in how things will look at the building, then you'll need to come to the work days. We'll be making decisions together as we go. It's important for you to know that in the end, the final decisions about how things will be done and how things will look rest with Rod and myself. We will soon form cohorts to begin design on the exterior (landscaping, community garden, playground, exterior paint, parking lot), kitchen/fellowship hall layout and design, classroom wing remodel (including design and buildout of small café and art studio, kidVespers setup, nursery setup, offices, and junior high space). If you're interested in helping with the prayer space/counseling office, please talk to Julie. Everything other than the initial sanctuary upgrade will be organized at a Drumming Circle that will take place during the end of February at our new building in our new sanctuary.
It's A Cardinal Thing
(Not A Cardinal Sin)
2:00 Vespers on February 1st
February 1 is the official first day for the Village to meet at its new location, 1926 N. Cloverland Ave. HOWEVER, God has seen fit to look down upon Arizona with favor and bless its gladiators with one last opportunity for glory; one last opportunity to pulverize the Pittsburgh Stealers. So on this special occasion, the Village will meet at 2:00 in our new space to praise God and thank Him for giving us this wonderful building. Afterwards, we will eat delicious food made by the community, wander around the building, and watch the Super Bowl together. Those of you who are bored-and-hate-football-anyway can lay on the ground and unscrew bolts to detach pews from the floor. |
