I haven't blog much lately, but I wanted to say how much I appreciate everyone else blogging. Last Sunday was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed Vespers. Rod's message was great. Especially the part about being addicted to serving people. What a great concept. I think the Village is headed down that path. The music was really cool. I will post some of it soon. I've not been as Johnny on the spot on uploading music and sermons. The website should be up to date soon. Note: Hey men don't forget to be at the St. Michael’s house this Friday for the Smack down. Ok, so to the good news. Sue and I found out what gender our little baby is. We are having a boy. Now I know some of you now think you have the gift of prophesy, but hey, you had a fifty-fifty chance on guessing the right gender. I'm excited about a boy. He even has a name Elliott Montana. Yes, we like state names. Hopefully Sue will put up some pics of the baby. There are some great ones with him sucking his thumb. He has really long arms and legs . . . no surprise there. If you haven't already noticed, I've tried put different pics of the last week interspersed through the blog. I have been hard at work putting together a visually satisfying demo version of the game. I hope you like the pics. Sue and I designed a new board and I've been improving the character cards, weapons cards and Monster cards for the game. Hopefully, I will have a fully functioning game for everyone to play while we wait for the finished product to be put together. Pics of the game show the sickness blob, a human, and a weapon. Enjoy! I will be taking next week off. The Seneca house is going to spend the week tiling its floors. If you are interested in helping, and you know something . . . anything about tiling, we would be grateful for your help. Our dishwasher died yesterday, and we decided to get a new one that was a little bit better and able to deal with our constant washing. At Vespers, we are starting the book of Second Samuel. It will be good to pickup from where we left off . . . Also, we will be moving from the Muse in June. We have a place to go, but I haven’t looked at it, so I’m not sure what it looks like, but I do know that it will be downtown.

Oh yeah. I get it. Overwhelm us with a tsunami of information to process so we won't know where to begin responding. I see how you are.

point 1: technically, Ash has two states named after her. To compensate, Elliot must be named Elliot Montana New Jersey.

point 2: The new game board is awesome. I like the abstract earthly gate. I think we could even use that board once the full one is set up. Except that Ryan's board looks really amazing, and I'm eager to play on it. I especially love his dragon's lair. I also like the idea of the standing cards.
point 3: I should pose for your sickness blob card sometime.
point 4: there is no point four.
point 5: congrats on gender retrieval and pics! Could we also get an artist rendering of Elliot at 6 months? It would just help me out with context.

For many years, I've had the idea of naming my hypothetical firstborn "Seneca" (assuming I produce a girl), but now, I'm thinking "Jersey" has a great ring to it. And hey, it's even unisex. It's a name rich with meaning: "knitted cloth" or "breed of cattle." Lots to aspire to there. While Seneca just comes from a Latin word for "old" ;-)

Who says I can't possibly respond!?! Me? at a loss for words? Not likely. So here's my response...in linear format.

1. You're welcome for blogging.

2. I enjoyed last Sunday as well. But my response to the "addicted to serving" bit was to sigh and think "One more thing that one has to keep in balance. There is no rest from the balancing act of life..." By the way, Jeff says the Mennonites do a really good job in the area of serving.

3. OK, I'll wait with bated breath for the website to be up to date.

4. I'm not a man so I'll feel free to forget about the Smackdown. I think it might have already happened...

5. Yeah! I'm so happy that the baby is obviously doing well! Even having gender already. And I like the name. Some of the possible nick names leave something to be desired (like: Elli) Well, I'm not into nick names, but if I was I would probably vote for "Monty". And it would be fun so see baby pics.

6. The interspersed pics of the game look good. Its really fun to have a project that allows for so much participation! Julie and I are planning to work together on various scripture card series. The first project is "sacrifice/offerings" from Genesis to Jesus. And its great to see all the artists doing cool things with the characters and game tiles! Even if the game never gets finished we are still having a great time!

7. Good luck on the floor tiling project.

8. I hope your new dishwasher comes with a good warranty!

9. Second Samuel this week. I have kids so I guess I'll take a look.

10. Can you tell us the downtown location or do you have to look at it first? Or be more sure that we're moving there? or what? If they demolish the Muse can we have some broken chuncks of our painted walls or floors or something?

11. I can't believe Derek beat me to responding! Arrrggg! And he even numbered his stuff! Arrrggg! I was going back and forth to make sure I addressed every topic and by number 9 I noticed Derek's response appearing. He's really just telepathically stealing my ideas. Well, I covered 11 points and he only has...well, I can't remember but it wasn't any where near 11!!!! I claim victory in the topic war.

Emily Mc.

...but who has time for 11 responses???

I will say this: you had a point that makes me wonder -- should we consider outsourcing servanthood to the Mennonites?

point 12- those of us who have time for 11 points could blog for those who have not the time but, instead, only the content.
