February 8, 2007 Village Postcard (Note: This postcard, if "reply all" is used, will connect you to all known village type people.)
To the Village... ers:
Drumming Circle: The Drumming Circle will happen on February 17 at 6 p.m. at the Seneca House. We will have pizza and drinks available, and maybe a movie or 2 for the children (older & younger) as well as the back yard/basketball court for them to enjoy.
I'm very excited about this year's 1st Drumming Circle and the things we're going to talk about. I would like to urge you (with all my 250 pounds of charisma) to come participate if you can. We will be discussing a little about our financial situation, our presence at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, and the future prospect of a building. We will also be talking about Easter, neighborhood prayer walks, and the Wi-Fi model of Church community. I believe that God is going to do some really cool things this year at the Village and is already in the process of transforming us into a very cool community.
Visual Arts Night: Recently, some of the artists at the Village gathered at the Seneca house to turn art night into a twice monthly creative bo-nanza. One of the objectives of the meeting was to brainstorm through ideas that would help artistic newbies along the way. To learn more about Visual Arts Night and the new Sunday a.m. Creativity Field Trips, visit villageartnight. The first scheduled event is Friday, Feb. 23 at Joel & Blanca's.
Ad vitam (the Village Vitamin):
We are in the process of collecting articles, photography and poetry for our next issue. We are looking for almost anything you are willing to give us. We are also willing to assign topics if you are in need of inspiration. Please turn in (or e-mail) your articles, photography or poetry to Eric Cepin, David Crawford, or Ryan McCulley. {Hey, you people in Writer's Group...}
Pilgrim Groups:
For all intensive purposes, Pilgrim Groups are established and hereby closed. However, if you are still interested and haven't signed up, you may yet have an opportunity to participate (due to the inertia of the 250-pound charismatic pastoral force in your midst). These groups will begin meeting soon.
Thoughts From Eric:
I had some yesterday....
