God showed me judgment in my heart toward you, my fellow villagers. I'm sorry. I have been mistaken about you. See--God showed me His perspective on you ALL...and He asked me to repeat it whenever I have bitterness/criticalness/unlove toward ANY of you. Like this... "Ferdinand, God's beloved son, righteous in Christ." "Altina, God's beloved daughter, righteous in Christ." I have need to listening to my leaders. God showed me awhile back that I needed to listen to them not just when I think they've got it right, but consistently--that this is part of the worship He wants from me. But I have been hard of hearing, slow to listen. I chose to be eager to listen, to tune my ear to them. I have been afraid to listen. I have felt if I listened and responded, my life would be unbearably hard. Like, what if I signed up to host a dinner and to welcome once....it real feels like too much when added to what's already on my plate....but then we were singing "bring your empty hands and your pockets full of the things that don't satisfy." I think my life feels too full partly cuz it's full of things I'm running after thinking they'll satisfy--and they don't...and partly cuz the burdens I'm carrying God didn't give me. "His burden is light," after all right? "COME TO ME all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I WILL give you rest. For MY yoke is easy and MY burden is light." --Jesus I am MOST GRATEFUL for Eric's words to us because God reminded me to "COME TO ME." To listen. To come to Him for rest, emptying myself and my life of what He shows me, taking on what He shows me and then getting to see how He helps me do it. (I am not saying I am going to host and build the kitchen. But I'm asking God about it.) I am grateful for Eric's list of 20 things he prays about for a year. I did that one year and it really blessed me. So, I just sat down for 1/2 an hour and started a list of 20 things to pray June to June 2010, including "Guide me and help me in structuring my life." I love you guys and I'm glad we're in this life together. --Emily Lewis
