I'm currently working on a few projects.
1.A Book of my own poems (working title is “Mind Numb”)
2.A Chapbook of Village Poetry and Writings
3.Helping my dad and Scott Coverdale create their poetry books.
I'm gathering data for a Village chapbook and looking through the old archives of our writing groups. I'll probably have a general idea of what the book will look like and how long it will take to make in the next week or two.
Also, here are the details on “Mind Numb.”
-I am currently planning to self-publish on www.cafe-press.com
-It currently contains about 70 poems
-It currently contains about 30 illustrations (27 pencil sketches, and slowly counting)
-It will be about 100-120 pgs. long
-It will probably cost around $13-$15 a copy.
-Most of the poetry will be new and uncollected, and has been written in the last few months.
-I have yet to decide if I will try to sell it locally.
Right now, I am in the midst of an arduous process of editing the book. I have completely rewritten about 10 of what I feel to be the 20 weaker poems in the collection. If they get a lot better, I'll keep them. If they don't, I'll write new ones. I'm also trying to get everything in good order and figure out the placement.
After that, I'll give it to several people to edit and make changes.
When all this is finished, I'll work on the front and back covers graphical layouts.
Finally, I will get a copyright, send it in to Cafe Press, buy a copy, and check to make sure everything is done correctly.
So, barring some unfortunate event, I'll probably be finished with it and have it for sale in about two or three months (hopefully). Of course, I may go insane and continue to write and rewrite all my poems until they are perfect. I should be able to put a .pdf file of it out for free as well (again, hopefully).
So, those are my current projects. I'll update it when there are changes. |
