Yea, I know tax season is already over, but it'll be here again soon. The Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization is a great place to donate money that you may owe to the AZ Revenue Service. [The law just changed so that now you have until April 15th to donate for the prior year. (No longer need to remember to do it by 12/31.)] It makes sense to me in at least two ways: helps parents afford to send kids to Pusch Ridge Christian Academy (or other school of your choice) and relieves burden of number of students in public school, not to mention the tax benefit. You get a dollar-for-dollar tax credit from the State! (Ok, I mentioned it anyway.) Here is a glowing report about ACSTO:
Ken Berger, President and Chief Executive Officer of Charity Navigator wrote to ACSTO on May 1, 2010, as follows:
Based on the most recent financial information available, we have calculated a new rating for your organization. We are proud to announce Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization has earned our sixth consecutive 4-star rating for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances. Only 3% of the charities we rate have received at least 6 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America. This “exceptional” designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.
Forbes, Business Week, and Kiplinger’s Financial Magazine, among others, have profiled and celebrated our unique method of applying data-driven analysis to the charitable sector. We evaluate ten times more charities than our nearest competitor and currently attract more visitors to our website than all other charity ratings groups combined, thus making us the leading charity evaluator in America.
These are exciting times. We believe the future of the scholarship tax credits is bright. There is great promise for more students to be able to attend the school of their parent’s choice while at the same time increasing the budget savings which accrue to the state of Arizona as a result of them doing so. |
