why hello friends! this is Cori here. so, I'm not gonna lie, for awhile now I've been on this website, reading people's blogs, looking at some sweet pictures, reading Joel's bio and laughing... but have not yet committed to really being a part. so here I am!! it's finals week, I have two to go, and another paper, and what have I decided to do?!? POST A BLOG of course!!! :-)

so... this blog is pretty much just to announce my presence and say "hello" - summer is near!! also I thought it'd be fun to post some pictures of going gliding a few days ago. have any of you ever done it? it was actually quite intense, especially when you're up there and the guy counts down from three for you to release the glider from the actual airplane...

I literally almost had to use this barf bag a few times. (you can't see it, but the instructions were in Chinese... can you say "sketch"?) it was quite hot out there (and up there), and my good friend Jeff who was in control of the whole thing was quite the jokester. it was very fun though. I'd totally go again. very beautiful overlooking the wonderful town of Marana.

anywho... I guess that is enough for now. I will now resort back to my former way of life: cramming for my sign language final that is in t-minus 2 hours. have a fantabulous day -- and PS today is Layne's 20th birthday so call/email her if you haven't already!! :)

we've all done the big picture thing on our first blog. (at least I did) It's kinda like the bloggers initiation. You can resize the pictures pretty easily using a variety of methods of which I'm sure someone would be happy to show you.

Open your pic in an editing program. [i think even paint will work] Change the image size to 3 inches by whatever that turns out to be and save the image as a different name so you don't lose the resolution in your huge photo file.

Thanks, Julie for the info. You seem to be the resident tech support :)

I edited your blog, Cori, to force the pictures down to a more readable size...but they are still large internally, so they will still take a while for people w/ slow Internet connections to download them. Whatever.

Whatever you did Russ really messed up the blog on my laptop. The one picture is cut off and Cori has disappeared and once again the pictures are covering some of the text. Is this something I can change?

Yup, Russ, sorry but I have the same problem as Mary Kay, again. Is there any way for us to fix this kind of thing on our own or will we be forever asking someone else to work on it?

If you want to look at the details of her blog (anybody can click on the "Edit this blog" link, though only Cori can actually check in changes), you'll see that I added a couple of "width" and "height" specifications on the images, to force them to display down at a reasonable size (even though they are still very large internally). Cori could delete those...but then the pictures would be huge again.

In a case like this, the best thing is to change the size of the pictures on your home computer, then Edit the blog, uploading the new versions. Then make sure to remove the HTML code that displays the old, large pictures.

As far as pictures overlaying your text, I don't know what is happening...it doesn't happen on the web browsers I use :( Which browser are you guys running?

MS Explorer. What, Bill Gates doesn't own the entire world yet?? (maniacal laughter ensues) I have to use whatever Amphitheater USD provides.
