some of you know or have heard that early this morning, I was stung by a scorpion in my sleep. indeed - it happens just after you think or say to people "oh I have never been stung by a scorpion and hopefully won't anytime soon." and people around you have been stung recently, so you are "extra careful", but you don't want to become paranoid, etc. :)

my little friend (insert scorpion name here) was very small and I think bit multiple times on my left arm - I think on my middle finger and wrist. my left arm is numb, I have the burning sensations, I'm not allergic to it so I don't need to go to the ER or anything, etc.

here are some pictures. my sister and I didn't find the scorpion until after calling poison control and confirming that it was a scorpion... and then she was the one who beheaded it!! go sister! off with its head!! :)

the first picture shows the scorpion (beheaded and upside-down) close up, the second shows the perspective of how small that same scorpion actually was (it is on a paper towel, folded over multiple times).

I'm glad you're okay. The kiddos are very concerned. I have informed them that no, you aren't going to die. I hope the swelling goes down soon.

Love ya,
Ginger

My second year teaching, I was teaching on Toltec Road, near Casa Grande, a place frequented by I-10 traffic and tumbleweeds caught in the dust devils. I had a very small mentally retarded boy named Michael in my class. One day, a tiny, pale scorpion suddenly dropped from the ceiling tile directly onto his desktop. He remained in his seat, transfixed and smiling with curiosity, while everyone else stood up and created safe distance. I was on the far side of the room and saying, "Michael, DON'T MOVE" as I came closer to try to kill it but in a split second, one of the "troublemakers," a boy named Andy, grabbed a book and crushed it. Gone, baby, gone.

That was a great insight how the "troublemakers" can really come in handy. It was cool how God used Andy to protect a more vulnerable student. Thanks again, Andrew Guerrero! (If you ever read this....)

Some day, he will Google his name, hit this blog, and feel blessed... :)
