You took my innocence, You robbed me of my childhood, You raped away my purity. I agreed with you and deadened my longings, Drinking your urine to sustain my thirst. I was under you hand for a time, But you could not destroy my heart. As it takes each agonizing beat, it proclaims life: I am not dead, life reigns in these members. My heart is nurtured and loved for the first time, I see glimpses of God’s love coming down, So I am enraged now with your tactics, Anger where it should be and not at myself. The blood that washes over me is no longer my own; The blood proclaims victory in every dark corner. My King has declared me His bride and pronounced you a liar.
