Subject: Grounding Poem
In my very own place
A precious gift given me this year.
A fuzzy throw blanket over my chilled shoulders,
Sounds of a clock and
The breeze moving the blinds,
Smells of fresh banana bread
Caress the spring air and
Mingle with the light filled house.
My sleeping dog across my hips,
I read of oneness with God,
Contemplation, meditation, Desert Fathers,
Sinking deeper into my heart,
I feel His presence all around.
My body, my mind grow heavy in His hand
Like a burden of rocks being released,
Tears well up from deep inside,
Unknown places, unknown pain,
Scars that go way beyond the surface,
Suffering that is unexplainable,
And He holds me ever so gently;
I feel His warmth in the sun soaked room,
His strength building inside as
More tears flow from a mysterious center,
All I can do is press in deeper,
Hoping that He will not leave,
Praying that He really is trustworthy,
Begging for a release from the pain,
Grasping at His strings of truth. |
