I clean the church every Saturday and pray while I am cleaning it or memorize scripture. While I was praying this Saturday, I was thinking about maturity and the sermons on Spiritual Gifts and the sins of the Gifts of helps - like thinking you have to do it and not having other people help. So I am trying to repent and ask for some help. I feel a great call to have our church clean and inviting every Sunday when we gather for worship. But quite frankly I cannot keep up with all the demands that I see of the cleaning by myself every week. It takes me two hours by myself to do the basic cleaning of the church. But with one person helping, the basic cleaning plus some basic extras that make the church sparkle can get done (example - getting the red paint off the men's bathroom floor - one that has been bugging me lately). So, is anyone game to help make our space clean and inviting. If I get a handful of people, they can rotate through the month and it could only mean a once a month commitment. The easiest, most time consuming thing that helps feel me up to do to the other things is vacuuming, but there is also sweeping, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms if you prefer something like that. Pray about it and let me know if you would be willing to be on a rotation to help. I tried this before and then gave up because of scheduling problems, so what I was thinking about was to schedule out and just give people like the second Saturday of each month or something. Perhaps that would work this time.
