Subject: Amazing Gospel

I was just baffled again in even more of a deeper amazement at the Gospel tonight. I was reading John 8 where Jesus is arguing with the Jews about how they can be free if they follow him and the Jews are saying they are from Abraham and have never been in bondage which is ridiculous and say Jesus is demon possessed and they want to kill him. Jesus says that Abraham saw his day and rejoiced. In verse 58, he says “before Abraham was born, I am.” Which is exactly how God referred to Himself to Moses in Exodus 3:14 I am who I am. Jehovah, the eternal God reference. The Jews wanted to stone Him, but He slipped away. It is just so amazing. That God came down – the all powerful, all in control, all sovereign, eternal, all knowing, creator of all things, who is beyond anyone’s imagination, came down on earth, actually became a baby boy and was totally reliant on human beings, was a human being. He knew he was God, but suffered in a world as a human completely like we do and then was brutally killed and rejected by His Father for our sins which He had never experienced. All that just because God and Jesus wanted to have fellowship with us people, with me, with you. It is so amazing and baffling to me. It is so hard even after seven years know of experiencing some good safe earthly love at the Village and experiencing this amazing God love in relationship. It is still hard for me to really grasp this kind of love and grace and mercy and compassion. I do not fully understand. I do not fully comprehend. It is so beyond my mind. How different life would be if I could fully grasp it? How different life has become now that I have grasped it more than I had five years ago? What an amazing transformation God does!!!
