So I'm thinking of teaching a little image editing class and I'm wondering if anyone in the village is interested in comming? My thought is to cover basic stuff needed for making happy stuff happen with your digital pictures. No experience needed, image editing program provided on request. The preferred program is the GIMP but I'll do photoshop if thats what you have. Maybe we'll meet at the village so we can use the projector? Who knows, anyway is anyone interested?

So the small problem aside.....Caleb, Daniel, and I would like to take such a class. And in case you think Daniel won't be able to keep up with the grown-ups -- think again! I'm assuming you mean a class for beginners. If you are thinking of a photo editing version of "art night" where people who already know what they are doing get together and do even more amazing stuff then that would be out of our league. What we want to learn is familiarity with editing photos for applications like uploading to the Village website. And a whole class session on uploading photos to the Village website would probably not be too much. It could include how to add text and how to insert photos into blogs....

O.K. Emily, you were joking about the Art Night thing Right?=) Amazing? . . . people who know what they are doing? That certainly has not been the experience of many who have gone. The artist(who would laugh if you called them that)have been very welcoming of anyone who comes. They help the children who come and they are pretty excited about new artists coming to learn.

Well I guess the focus of the class is going to be determined by what happens in this blog. As I see that there are several people interested in the basics, thats what I'll do. Now thats not to say that if you concider your self above that basics that there won't be anything for you to learn. It will probably just mean that we'll have another class with the graduates from this class and those more proficient, and learn some really cool stuff that has absolutly no practacal use... or something like that.

Count me in, too. I've been trying to find someone to teach me some photo editing. Thanks Benji.

OK so I've put some thought into it and here is the course outline.

Click it to see all 5 days.

So now I just have to make the course work and all that good stuff. :-)

Oh yeah, I also have to make take home CD's with all the images, program, and lessons. So you can practice at home and have my notes and stuff.
