Hey all-

The plan right now is to go to the water park on Saturday. Ryan and I would like to go when it opens at 10am. We are looking at Breakers because of the wave pool. With the coupon on the web, it is only $8.95 for an adult admission. Here is the link to Breakers: http://www.breakerswaterpark.com/

If anyone has better info on Wyatt's Water World (previously Justin's) than the internet, please let me know. Emily McConnell- what was posted on various sights on the internet about it (they don't have their own web page that I could find), is that there are only slides. It didn't talk about any kind of pools. What do you remember of that park? The entertainment coupon doesn't say anything about pools either. I am thinking Breakers because I know that after a few slides, I get tired and am ready to relax in a pool again; especially on a hot day.

I would love to hear feedback from everyone.

Andrea

Yeah! I have actual useful feedback! I called my friend who has 5 kids and does this kinda thing a lot. She said she loves Wyatt's (aka Justin's) but her husband loves Breakers.

Her take on the Wave Pool at Breakers is "no big deal" Justin's has the "lazy river" if you want to cool off but not be on a slide.

Justin's also has "Little Tykes" play equipment in a wading pool and Breakers has nothing for that young age. So for little kids (Kelly age) there is no comparison.

At Justin's you can take your own food and Breakers doesn't allow that. That really irritates her since feeding 5 kids at Breakers prices.....

Right now you can get 50% off coupons for Justin's (Wyatts) on the back of the "Bear Essentials" newspaper for kids available at all libraries. (There are also coupons for bowling and other fun stuff if we decide to party on this summer!)We are going to the library this afternoon so I'll have each kid get one.

But lets remember that her husband prefers Breakers. He was not available for comment.

Also, right now we have another plan for Saturday but perhaps it could be changed if the people going would rather go with us to where ever we go. My neighbor Debbie and I were going to take a group of kids to a miniature horse farm before its gets too hot in the summer. OK, its already too hot but its going to get worse! So Saturday is iffy for me.....but we are still available on Monday, even though there's a chance of thunderstorms...

It's nice here in Lexington. The high temperature for today is 80 degrees. For Saturday Mr. Weatherman said it would be a high of around 78. ... don't mean to brag or anythang.

Karen might be right about the mexican restaurants; I didn't really have true Mexican food until I moved to Tucson. That only took 19 years. They do have a restaurant called Chi-Chi's here in town though that is as close to Mexican as yar goin get. (People from Louisville, KY where some of my mom's side is from don't pronounce the "ou" or "ow" or "or" in words as in the word your, shower and shorts; they would resay it as "ah" instead.)

I was told not to say the word "Chi-Chi's" by my dad's mom when I got to Tucson and was telling her of the Mexican restaurants I've been to. The word "chi-chi's" refers to a certain part of the female primate's anatomy. I'll let you figure that one out on your own.

Have fun this weekend at the waterpark. As one song, that Karen probably remembers, reminds us is "Remember the sunscreen". Do you remember that one Karen? It's sung as a graduation song like Vitamin-C's "Graduation".

Okay, so we decided not to go on Saturday since there's not much interest. We will go to the water park on Monday instead. We are going to The Water Park Formerly Known as Justin's (there are coupons and we can bring our own food). We're up for hearing suggestions as to what time, but failing suggestions to the contrary, I will make a Command Decision for 10am. Please RSVP so we can carpool n stuff.

Yeah! We're coming! Me & the kids are coming and we can bring 4 more people in the Suburban with us. We'll be bringing a cooler with snacks, drinks and lunch stuff so if anyone wants to add their stuff to ours that will be available. I think we'll bring an ice block and the the (very third world) hand icee scraper thingy that I bought off the internet from some Indonesian looking guy. The imported syrups are always fun. I bought a "coffee" flavor but I'm afraid to try it...coffee icee??? Is that too weird?

A camping chair might be a good idea.

The rumor is that the coupons are "buy one get one free". (The initial cost is $12 so hopefully we can all get in for $6) I will get the coupons from the library tomorrow and post the exact financial information. They are in the "Bear Essential News for Kids". Yes, I know you all have well worn copies at home but I'll get them from the library anyway.

So, the final plan is that we are meeting at Seneca house at 9:30am. We will be going to Wyatt's water park. It is $12 a person (adult) but we have some discounts but I don't know if enough for everyone. All are welcome and we are excited about it.

Emily, Caleb, Daniel, Kelly, Jessie, Elizabeth, Karen, Ryan and I went to the water park today (Wyatt's). We had a very fun day complete with the excitement of a snake slittering underneath our feet, which Kelly thought was a 'gecko-thingy'. The snake turned out to be a harmless gopher snake and a friedly companion for the day. We have no pictures of the day but imagine lots of sliding really fast, whooshing into a pool at the bottom of the slides, laughing, and generally getting to know each other better.

We missed all who did not come but had a blast anyway. There is a talk of more water park fun later in the summer if anyone is up for it.
