This was one of a few reel-to-reels that got regular play in our house when I was a young-un. It's not the schmaltzy, Rogers-and-Hammerstein type of musical, but is full of arch (and some earthy) humor, and it really humanizes those guys on our greenbacks. My favorite lyrics include, "May my wife refuse my bed if I can't deliver as I said, resolution of independency!"
I won't be there (otherwise committed), but if you end up at La Placita this week, afterwards, why don't you walk a few blocks over to Congress to see us play? :-) |
