New Ryan-

I thought you were going to take me along to AK to testify as to the medical/mental health benefits of moving to AZ?

Loved your pics. Look forward to chatting with you about Alaksa and the places you saw that will bring back memories for me. Thanks for sharing the pics.

What did you think of Alaska?

andrea: more accurately what DO I think of Alaska, since I am in fact still there (here). My flights got all messed up due to a mechanical problem and I can't get out of here until Saturday. So at this point I'm stuck in Juneau. Though there are certainly worse places to get stuck, I'm ready to be home.

However, I'm resolved to make the best of it here. I think I'll do what any sane person would do in my shoes: take a hike.

To start to answer your question concerning Alaska.....I think it's amazing. It's like Switzerland MINUS the quaint cabins, cows and manicured pastures, but PLUS grizzly bears, moose, wolves, ocean, and incomprehensibly large tracts of unspoiled, unexplored land.

It's in these places that the line between this present world and the world to come seems to blur. In fact I really start wondering if THIS world IS heaven. (Just a world not yet brought under the Rule of the King). Any thoughts?

Alaska is one of only (I think) three or four states I've never been to. Like Switzerland, eh... haven't been there, either. So how's the chocolate and cheese in Alaska? Run into any Nubian goats wandering among the moose herds? (Moose do run in herds, don't they?)

As for your question about heaven on earth, I think earth is Heaven's Annex, under siege. The Kingdom of Heaven has taken root on Earth and won't budge from its stronghold, and we, Christ's Church, continue to hold our ground, and even press out and take back more territory from time to time. (Raaaah!)

Praying you get home tomorrow. I trust you're bringing more scenery with you when you come?
