So I was looking at a bunch of the pictures from old village days and I couldn't help but notice the women's camping trip a few years ago. AHHH FUNNN! Maybe you never did one again because it was crazy or something... but I vote for a camping trip with the women! Or anyone... I just can't seem to get my husband to go and I really want to gooooo!!! So... who would be interested? I also noticed that there were kids...so all you moms can't bail because we can take the kiddos. Hmmm now there's an idea :)!!!
Can't wait to hear who's in. Please, somebody must want to camp in the beautiful mountains that God gave us. You know, he wants us to camp!!!

I'm all there, but not until it gets A LOT WARMER! Of course, I'm more than fairly useless on a camping trip. I'm pretty good with food, have absolutely no supplies and couldn't pitch a tent if my life depended on it. On the last all-girls camping trip, there were a lot of camping savvy women around, though, so I think we can pull it off. Good idea, Adrienne!

I would like to go...camping is fun, for the most part. I would like to go where there is a good bathroom (flush if possible) nearby. That is a luxury, I know, but then we do the rest roughing it. I would like to leave my kiddo at home with her/his father (we don't know who the kiddo is yet! ;) to have some women time getaway. My man is up for it!

I agree with the need for warmer weather.

Most campgrounds I know of have outhouses, with running water at faucets at or near the sites. But the only campground in AZ I've been to with actual flush toilets is at the Grand Canyon. Grand Canyon camping is great but we'd have to reserve spaces several months in advance. And drive 6 hours each way. Anyone up for that in the early summer, maybe? Hmmm. Other camping experts out there?

FYI Adrienne, camping was actually considered for the Pilgrim Group retreat but decided against because it's fairly high-maintenance esp. for those with babies, etc. It's a bit of a beast to plan for a large group camping experience (at least if people expect to be comfortable) ;-) But do you want to take that on? :-) I'll come if someone else plans.... Really like to camp. Maybe let's try for March or early April, when it's not too hot in the day, warmer at night, and almost invariably dry! (Writing this at work as my roof is almost certainly leaking back at my apartment....)

I think I might have spear-headed last girl campout. I love camping and love hanging out with women and any kids they decide to bring along, so I'm much in favor. We have several tents, camp stoves, tarps, camp chairs and lists that we use to make sure we have everything we need. We are a bit limited in sleeping bags so can't help anyone there. I like to set up tents and such and would be happy to orchestrate that aspect. Don't really like to orchestrate food, although I'd be happy to help think through what good camping meals would be. I camp in warm, cold, rain or shine, but I'd be happy to wait for warmer, drier weather.

I love camping myself and have not gone since a smaller group of us went to the Grand Canyon. I am up for all kinds of camping and in any weather. Count me in.
