Most campgrounds I know of have outhouses, with running water at faucets at or near the sites. But the only campground in AZ I've been to with actual flush toilets is at the Grand Canyon. Grand Canyon camping is great but we'd have to reserve spaces several months in advance. And drive 6 hours each way. Anyone up for that in the early summer, maybe? Hmmm. Other camping experts out there?
FYI Adrienne, camping was actually considered for the Pilgrim Group retreat but decided against because it's fairly high-maintenance esp. for those with babies, etc. It's a bit of a beast to plan for a large group camping experience (at least if people expect to be comfortable) ;-) But do you want to take that on? :-) I'll come if someone else plans.... Really like to camp. Maybe let's try for March or early April, when it's not too hot in the day, warmer at night, and almost invariably dry!
