O God, you are my God, I wait for you from the dawn.

This is the Psalm that was up on universalis.com today. I was near the end of it when I realized it’s one of the songs we sing at Vespers. Before I read it, I was praying about how I’ve been worrying, and how I need to come to God with the thoughts in my head – to listen to what He says instead of trying to solve everything myself. So when I saw this Psalm, it was as though He was offering me an alternative way of thinking.
The person in this Psalm is always thinking about God – waiting for Him from the first thing in the morning and remembering Him at night. Speaking and singing His praise, knowing that His mercy and His help is there. Taking joy in God and depending on Him.
That’s such a contrast to where I’ve been lately. I think it would be a good way to live. |
