So, Caleb is in the hospital for what MAY be appendicitis. It may, on the other hand, be some strain of the flu that's going around. They're not sure yet.

He's not allowed to eat anything right now, but would love to have visitors, and you're welcome to bring some non-food token of your affection... perhaps something to stave off cabin fever.

He's at TMC in room 214. The pediatrics entrance on the south side of the building is the most convenient to this locale.

I just spoke to Emily and Caleb is being released today. We don't know exactly what time yet but she just got him food and as soon as all the paper jazz is dealt with he'll be going home. I'm sure if you're fast he would still love company.

Caleb is at home tonight and is at least well enough to be eating a yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting. And the pains he's been having are at least not appendicitis. On the other hand, Jeff has been in bed since he hurried back from the hospital today, really sick, not up for cupcakes or much of anything else. The other two kids are tuckin' in at Seneca tonight...shout out & thanks to the Senecans. Please pray that everyone sleeps, if you're reading this before midnight!

Thank you to everyone who helped and prayed. The "classic appendicitis" turned out to be a hoax. But they were uncertain enough to keep Caleb hooked up to the IV all day. They finally released him after the surgeon pushed on his stomach and Caleb did not yelp with pain. With that kind of technology who needs ultrasound?

Meanwhile, Jeff was at home really sick. He was very grateful for Krysti's help in driving him home from the hospital and setting him up with the things he needed (Sprite/saltines/chicken soup, etc). The chicken soup was also a welcome dinner for after we got home from the hospital. No one was in the mood for McDonalds....

Karen helped me retrieve Jeff's car from the hospital (we spent way too much time searching!) and then tucked us in to bed. Thank you Karen.

Thank you Brunsons for taking the little kids over night (and after school). We were sooooo tired.

After sleeping again for 4 hours in the afternoon I was very happy to find out that Trizia was bringing us dinner. Since I have not mastered the art of cooking and sleeping at the same time, there was no dinner ready and Taco Bell did not sound at all appealing! But Trizia's chicken and rice was just right for our family.
