Thanks for the link, Eric, which actually doesn't get blocked at my school ;-) It looks like his name is actually Bentley John.

What is DS? She talks about it in the blog but there was nothing about it. I assume a genetic condition they think the baby might have.

It is Bentley John! I sent out a text saying Bentley David (David's name is David Bentley so I accidently mixed it all up. I was out of it, what can I say!?!?!?
Also, he has down syndrome which I know David plans to write about on the village website in the coming days. He has a big test on Monday....so I am not sure when.

Surprised you were at your computer. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

The first thought that comes to mind is that I can't imagine better parents for a disabled child (if that's the case) than you and David. The second thought is, waiting to find out what exactly happens with Bentley, that could be very hard, I think. I'll be praying for you.

Funny, Karen's thought is exactly what I thought. I can't imagine a better family for Ben to be born into. I thought that before any thoughts about how hard a shock this must've been. I'm so thankful that you have such a beautiful son given so perfectly to you. I am praying for you as you await the results of the tests to find what you have ahead of you.
I enjoyed hearing your tale of delivery on your blog. Good work...
Love you both.
Julie

So I will continue updating about little Ben on my blog...that way I don't have to write all over the place! David has put pictures on his blog as well. :)
So to see pics and read more go to....
And so the prayer thing I mentioned on my blog is actually a pretty big deal...I kind of down play it because I am sort of in denial that things could get really tough...one never wants the heart to have issues...it's a pretty important part of the body. It's common for Down Syndrome children to have heart defects.
So anyway, to remind you of links to our blogs:

This is definitely a hard part to face. I don't have any answers, but I know what God did for my cousins' baby only 3 months ago, i.e., healed her defective heart in utero so that it now functions normally w/out meds, much less open heart surgery....which is so crazy that the techs couldn't figure it out. I'm not sure if God will do anything the same for Bentley and for you, but I'm sure that he will give you the grace to handle whatever comes. And don't hesitate to have everyone you know in the world (and even some you don't) pray for healing in the meantime.

P.S. I think that you might be waiting to see if the valve closes properly? Am I right about that? I learned more about the heart through what happened to baby Isabella.
