Hey guys,
I recently wrote a song about the Tucson shoting, reflecting on it's aftermath and today I put together a slideshow video of it. I won't spend a lot of time trying to explain it, I think the song speaks for itself. It's my hope and prayer though that everyone who hears this will take a moment of reflection about whether or not they are contributing to the already hot fire of division in our country, and what they might be able to do to help the process of healing and bringing us closer together. Here it is guys.

Well Mike, I don't like Country Music, but that was a good song. The orchestration on the recording was good. The song is perfect for your voice. The words are great and very country. If I had a record label, I'd sign you right now.

Eric

Thanks so much Eric and Cheryl. It was a blessing to be able to write this and then record it and now sharing it with whomever would like to hear it. With so much anger out there right now I thought a reflective more passive message was needed and that is what I tried to write.

It made me cry.... (in a good way) Do you know that Gabby was in my high school class? She is a dear friend of a dear friend. Her rabbi is a good friend of my aunt's. Christina's older brother will be coming to Cross (my school) next year, and I have a 50-50 chance of teaching him. Etc. Etc.

Thank you so very much for sharing this.

By the way, unless there are two Joshua Butchers in Tucson who play guitar, I know Joshua Butcher ;-) He's a friend of my parents.

That is very cool Karen thank you so much for sharing that. Only one Joshua Butcher that I know of, he and Robin both of The Tangelo's were a big help getting this song done.

Mike, this is a beautiful song and it fits your voice perfectly. The song speaks wonderfully to our desire to see our world changed for good and that ache grows stronger in me as the days go by. I love this city and long for it to be a place where we bow before God and serve each other instead of engaging in all that separates. One of the premises of the Village is that ultimately our response to evil in this world is to simply grieve and mourn and your amazing song gives perfect voice to that. Thanks for writing it, singing it, and for the video as well. You are one of my heroes.

Rod
