Aaron is still on the ventilator, his lungs are still very bad, his ribs are still broken etc, but he woke up more and was communicating with people! He was even stying to joke with Bess and his sister at one point...he can't talk but he does things with his eyes and hands. My dad went in too and rubbed Aaron's arm and said, "We love you so much Aaron" and Aaron tried lifting his hand a little and then distinctly did the sign language, "I love you" sign!! HE is still in a lot of pain though. When Bess and I were in there, he started knitting his eyebrows and trying desperately to lift his finger to point to himself. Finally we got the nurse and she came in and asked him if the breathing tube was botherin him. He nodded. She apologized and said she couldn't take it out, but that she could give him more pain meds. His eyes looked so sad and in pain, it broke my heart. He nodded again when she asked if he wanted her to give him more drugsso she did and then he dozed again. We have a lot to be thankful for though! THe staff is so surprised and pleased that he is recovering So fast considering how bad he was! They are very hopeful and said maybe they can take the breathing tube out on Saturday!
