My brother in law and younger sister are visiting us here in Tucson. They went to a wedding yesterday. Bess and their one month old baby went to the wedding early and then Aaron was driving to meet them there. On his way, Aaron was in a car accident. He side swiped one car and crashed into the back of another. He was slumped over sideways in the truck seat and a witness administered CPR to revive him. The ambulance came, on the way to the hospital he "died" again. They shocked his heart back. He was unconscious, had internal bleeding at the spleen and his lungs were collapsed. We stayed all night and finally Aaron was stabilized at around 10pm, but still on the breathing machine and still unconscious. This morning the nurse said he opened his eyes and looked around and started being in pain and trying to get up. She told him, "Aaron, you've been in a car accident, please lie down." And he calmed down. So, that is the good news so far- that there was someone on the scene who could administer CPR right away, that his heart responded to the shocks, that he stabilized, the internal bleeding wasn't bad, he was waking up and listening to the nurse this morning. But he is still being held unconscious by drugs so he can stay still. They think that he somehow passed out or had a heart arithmea just before the crash and that is why it happened so pray that they find out the underlaying issue too eventually, but mostly that he will heal well and quickly. Aaron is 23 years old. Please pray for my family-my younger sister Bess, his wife, especially. |
